We're on our way!
It has begun! Our team members are all en route to Christchurch, New Zealand, and the United States Antarctic Program base, where our outfitting and protocol and safety training begin tomorrow! I, for one, could not be more excited!
My own journey has taken me from Providence, Rhode Island, via Philadelphia and Los Angles, to Sydney, Australia, where I now await my final flight to Christchurch. It has been a very long journey, but so worth it! (The pic shows the approach to the beautiful rugged coastline of Australia.)
Friday is our "ice date" as it is known, and we will take our "ice flight" to McMurdo Station on Antarctica. I know we are all thrilled to spend two days there seeing what life is like for the scientists and support staff who work and live there.
We are so glad you are sharing our journey, and we look forward to answering your questions! Please get in touch via our Contact Us page!
